The Ford Racing Chief Program Engineer is a critical leader in accomplishing the delivery of one or several of these vehicles in the overall portfolio.

Ford Motor Company continues to grow and modernize production vehicles for our customers seeking the ultimate capability and support of this effort the Ford Racing Team is looking for a technical business leader with passion for high performing vehicles to lead a vehicle program.

In this position...

The Ford Racing Chief Program Engineer is responsible for all aspects of delivering a production vehicle program into a high-volume manufacturing facility. Position is focused on timely completion of the engineering system and component designs that can be manufactured by a wide range of suppliers that are compatible with program financial targets.

Workload consists of managing the product development process through key milestone metrics and cross-functional issue resolution. Communication with partners across Ford and Supplier organizations to align objectives and manage a timely decision-making process. Maintain the teams focus on the key aspects of the product for success in the enthusiast marketplace for this specific product.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver vehicle program engineering and financial milestones with quality on time.
  • Deliver vehicle program financial status for engineering vendor & facilities tooling and cost.
  • Deliver vehicle program supplier sourcing for all new tooled end items both Ford Racing led and core Ford Engineering led on time and matching vehicle program targets.
  • Deliver compatible production designs to match the theme appearance for the vehicle program.
  • Deliver a product that meets the established vehicle program marketing targets.
  • Support delivery of the vehicle program attribute targets.
  • Lead the establishment of optimal assumptions for the customer to vehicle interface including selection of interior components HMI features and services.
  • Deliver the prototype build and production vehicle launch to standard with the high quality expected by the enthusiast customer.
  • Make fact-based decisions with support of cross-functional teams in timely fashion to maintain program objectives.
  • Take lead in resolution of difficult cross-functional issues to maintain program objectives.
  • Manage a team of program management analysts and function program management engineers to deliver the overall vehicle program via prioritization of critical path tasks.
  • Support transfer of technology and methods from vehicle production program to Competition Vehicle and Ford Racing Competition Vehicles to Production Vehicles.
  • Deliver technical project presentations to senior management including results and accomplishments conclusions and recommendations and lessons learned.


Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

Minimum requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Automotive OEM.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in either Vehicle Engineering or Program Management
  • Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of the Automotive full vehicle product concept to plant build process.

Desired requirements:

  • Engineering MS or MBA equivalent degree or higher
  • Prior experience as a Chief or Assistance Program Engineer
  • Automotive plant experience either from launching vehicles or working in plant engineering team.
  • Working understanding of problem-solving skills for example ( failure mode effects causes severity and detection methods and statistical methods )
  • Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several unique tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.
