Position Overview
As a Hot Mix Asphalt Superintendent you will ensure the plants operates safely efficiently and successfully every day. You will oversee all site activitiesfrom coordinating material supply and production to managing compliance and developing your team. This is your opportunity to be a hands-on leader driving both operational excellence and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supervise and mentor plant personnel to achieve their fullest potential
- Champion a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA and company safety standards
- Identify and resolve hazardous conditions proactively
- Collaborate with Sales Customer Service and Dispatch to optimize scheduling and delivery in a fast-paced setting
- Plan and manage maintenance activities to ensure continuous operations
- Work closely with Quality Control to maintain product integrity and compliance
- Control expenditures to maximize profitability for the plant region and CRH
- Organize staffing to meet operational needs assign tasks and ensure ongoing progress
- Approve and process timesheets accurately and on time
- Maintain plant properties to high standards of safety and appearance
- Implement plans for plant rehabilitation and beautification
- Set clear performance goals provide regular feedback and support professional development
What Were Looking For
- Comprehensive understanding of asphalt properties and mix designs with the ability to adjust mixes for optimal results
- Working knowledge of materials methods and tools used in plant maintenance
- Strong communication skills verbal and written to empower and inform your team
- Ability to perform basic math and read/follow written and verbal instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)
- Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations governing plant operations
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Three or more years of related experience and/or training preferred
Requirements & Expectations
- Pass pre-employment drug screen background check and Fit for Work physical (may include medical card for driving)
- Provide valid documentation for I-9 immigration requirements
- Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy to team members supervisors and customers
- Willingness to travel work nights/weekends and overtime as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Strict adherence to safety procedures and use of required PPE
- Team player attitudeready to assist and collaborate whenever necessary
- Minimum age: 18 years due to safety/environmental requirements
