We are looking for a motivated Youth Worker to join our dedicated team! This position is based at the New Westminster Secondary School Welcome Centre. POSITION FUNCTION:

The Youth Worker/Youth Programmer provides support to youth facilities educational workshopsfor youth and in the community. The Youth Worker works with youth in the age range and riskgroup specified by the program. The Youth Worker works closely with other youth programs withinMOSAIC as well as community partners.



KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide intensive support to youth in the program using the program delivery model
  • Remain current with CARF standards relevant to the program project or service
  • Conduct intake and assessments using a structured process
  • Develop a client-centered care plan and support youth in implementing it to achievetheir individual goals
  • Provide counselling support accompaniment resource information advocacy andreferral as needed
  • Organize and facilitate workshops for youth and parents as needed and othergathering opportunities in the community to promote the program and MOSAIC
  • Work collaboratively with the team; facilitate program team meetings coordinate thedevelopment of an action plan for the care team monitor progress and adjust asneeded
  • Understand and participate in the evaluation of the program or project; may developand implement evaluation of program components; provide recommendations forrevisions to program/project model and operation
  • Maintain accurate documentation on all clients and activities using the in-housedatabase system and required program forms


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in or diploma in Social Work HumanitiesCounselling Child & Youth Care Criminal Justice or arelated field or a certificate or diploma or course work inrelated fields or a combination of training and experiencein an area related to the program project or service.
  • Spanish Language required and other languages are an asset
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications publishing software databases and social media
  • Workshop and facilitation skills

COMPENSATION: $28.58 - $29.25 per hour



HOURS:

full-time 35 hours/week fixed term until March 31 2026(Might be possibility of extension depending on funding)

The successful candidate must be able to commute to 820 6th Street New Westminster V3L 3C8
