Operation Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a high-performing energy recovery facility in the Birmingham area. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth safe and efficient operation of the plant overseeing teams involved in production logistics and maintenance.
Reporting to the Plant Manager youll lead day-to-day operations ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards and drive performance improvement across the the absence of the Plant and Maintenance Managers youll take full responsibility for all plant operations.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager include:
- Lead and develop the operations team promoting a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Oversee daily plant performance ensuring targets for efficiency output and cost are achieved.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety environmental permits and company standards.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to enhance plant reliability and availability.
- Manage budgets reporting and operational KPIs driving consistent performance improvement.
What youll need:
- Proven leadership in a process-driven environment (power waste or heavy industry).
- Strong understanding of high-pressure systems boilers or energy conversion processes.
- Experience managing operational KPIs budgets and compliance standards.
- Recognised engineering qualification (mechanical electrical or process) with NEBOSH/IOSH certification preferred.
- Excellent communication problem-solving and team development skills.
