Job Summary
This is a remote position.
- Mondays to Fridays 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Edmonton Canada (EST)
- Business Analysis & Process Mapping
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Analyze current workflows identify inefficiencies and design future state process maps.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for technical teams.
- Support change management and adoption of new solutions.
- Data Analysis & Visualization
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide real-time actionable insights.
- Build optimized data models and use DAX and Power Query for advanced calculations.
- Collaborate with business units to design dashboards that support decision-making.
- Automation & Workflow Optimization
- Design and deploy workflow automations using Power Automate (cloud and desktop).
- Automate manual tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Integrate automation solutions with applications databases and reporting tools.
- SQL & Data Management
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract clean and transform data from relational databases.
- Partner with IT/data teams to design data pipelines that feed into BI and automation solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy consistency and compliance with governance policies.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business uswers ensuring alignment on requirements and outcomes.
- Provide training and support to business teams adopting new dashboards or workflows.
- Identify opportunities for ongoing automation analytics and process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst Data Analyst or Business Solutions Specialist.
- Strong expertise in Power BI (DAX Power Query data modeling).
- Proficiency in SQL for querying reporting and data transformation.
- Experience with Power Automate (cloud and desktop) for workflow automation.
- Strong skills in process mapping (Visio Lucidchart or similar tools).
- Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile principles.
- Familiarity with Power Apps or other low-code application platforms.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure AWS or GCP).
- Background in change management and business transformation projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
