We are currently hiring an Orthopaedic Staff Nurse for a reputed hospital in Cork Ireland.

Responsibilities
Assess and identify potential orthopaedic/surgical candidates for pre-admission and post-discharge ensuring effective post-acute discharge planning and appropriate referrals.
Act as a resource and liaison for orthopaedic patients attending other hospital departments or external healthcare facilities for continued treatment.
Deliver patient education sessions within the clinical area and for outpatients as required promoting understanding and engagement in care plans.
Develop and maintain records of all Arthroplasty cases on the Irish National Orthopaedic Register ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
Collaborate closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Ensure effective communication and documentation of patient information while maintaining strict confidentiality and respect for privacy.
Assist in the development and delivery of teaching and training programmes to support professional growth and continuous learning within the team.
Requirements
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Higher Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing (desirable but not essential).
Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in orthopaedic nursing.
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Excellent interpersonal organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently take initiative and remain self-motivated in a fast-paced clinical environment.
