POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Ensure the accurate management of student compliance records
  • Support the integrity of LPAC processes
  • Maintain timely well-organized documentation for Emergent Bilingual students in accordance with district and state guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have completed at least 30 college hours; or
  • Obtained an associates (or higher) degree; or
  • Met a rigorous standard of quality demonstrated through a formal State or local academic assessment

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (written/oral)
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with students staff and families
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Experience:

  • Two years of experience working in a similar administrative capacity with responsibility for supporting applicable compliance requirements for Emergent Bilingual students

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance Documentation and Student Records Support:

  • Ensure accurate management of student compliance records including identification program placement progress monitoring reclassification and exit documentation for EB students
  • Collaborate with campus registrars to identify students with a Home Language Survey indicating a language other than English
  • Contact parents to explain the benefits of the EB program and to obtain approval for student placement
  • Assist with securing parent signatures for programmatic assignments and ensure compliance with documentation requirements
  • Create LPAC folders for new-to-country students ensuring they are correctly set up in the system
  • Enter and verify data in Skyward Frontline and other required online systems
  • Support centralized enrollment by contacting parents and scheduling language identification assessments
  • Verify that LPAC documentation is correctly archived in Frontline after each meeting
  • Prepare and maintain the instructional and testing accommodations spreadsheet for EB students
  • Assist in monitoring academic progress for EB students and ensure timely documentation

General Duties:

  • Participate in required meetings and ongoing professional development
  • Adhere to district policies procedures and performance expectations with integrity and accountability
  • Demonstrate proficient working knowledge and understanding of student information systems to manage EB compliance records and documentation
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets Docs Slides)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment

  • Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); heavy lifting (45 pounds or over)
  • Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun heat cold and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (body fluids bacteria communicable diseases)
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; Ability to interact positively and proactively with students staff and the community communicate effectively verbally and inwriting.
  • Professional Dress:Dress must be clean neat in a manner appropriate for his or her assignment and in accordance with any additional standards established by his or her supervisor and approved by the Superintendent. During work hours visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed.
