Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) is appointing
excellent candidates in the locations Graz and Linz to initiate new research topics in
electronic and software-based systems which extend the existing portfolio of SAL.

A successful candidate has an
exceptional track record in a specific area of electronic and software-based systems can establish and lead a high-impact research unit and demonstrates strong communication skills. The candidate is experienced in initiating and managing R&D projects especially with industrial partners and has established a large international network within academic and industrial organizations.
We are looking for an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Researcher to lead high-quality industry-relevant research. You will work in a strong team with good connections to international industry and academic partners and will be responsible for:
- Develop models and procedures for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) simulation in power electronics to predict EMI behavior of power electronic circuits and systems.
- Simplify simulations and computational costs of these EMI simulations.
- Apply machine learning methods to find the global optimum of circuits and systems.
- Acquire manage and execute research projects with industrial and academic partners in close collaboration with team members.
- Strategic planning and building new industrial and academic partnerships
- Technical lead and technical advisor to the team
- Funding collaboration setup and writing funding proposals
- Publish results in peer-reviewed international conferences and scientific journals.
Your profile
- PhD in Electrical Engineering Electronics Physics or a related field
- At least 10 years of practical experience in the simulation of EMI in power electronics including the application of AI / machine learning methods
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and understanding of the bigger picture
- Strong understanding of Electromagnetic Compatibility and Power Electronics
- Proficient in circuit and 3D EM simulation as well as Python MATLAB
- Leadership personality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Fluency in English; German is an advantage.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group G (G1 salary EUR 5.546- paid 14 times a year) based on 385 hours per week). For this position we offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications starting with a minimum gross salary ofEUR 80.000 (annual based on an All-in contract and bonus).About us
