Job Summary

Summary
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing negotiating and procuring goods and services essential to Wilson Tools operations with a focus on supporting manufacturing managing inventory and optimizing total cost of ownership. This position ensures that high-quality materials and services are obtained at competitive prices while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
The Buyer collaborates across divisionsincluding Engineering Production Quality and Financeto align procurement activities with company goals. This role contributes to Wilson Tools efficiency and competitiveness through strategic sourcing supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives that support innovation and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities
Procurement & Inventory Management
  • Generate process and complete purchase requisitions and orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services to support manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Maintain and update master data in SAP to ensure accurate and reliable records.
  • Deliver supplies to the shop floor and support daily operational demands.
  • Receive inspect and process incoming materials resolving discrepancies or damaged items promptly.
  • Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
Supplier Management & Sourcing
  • Identify evaluate and select suppliers to meet quality cost and delivery objectives.
  • Negotiate pricing terms and contracts that support company goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure service reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and lead regular business reviews.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve product quality or performance concerns.
  • Support responsible sourcing and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assess and mitigate risks within the supply chain to ensure operational continuity.
Strategic Procurement & Cost Optimization
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with company objectives and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends materials and emerging supply chain opportunities.
  • Leverage data and reporting to drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Finance to forecast spend and track savings initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to identify and qualify alternate suppliers or materials that support innovation and new product development.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Champion automation and system improvements within SAP and related procurement tools.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies to improve accuracy and throughput.
  • Track and report procurement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in Lean Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shop supply vendors and internal customers across divisions.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on procurement and inventory best practices.
  • Support team collaboration by sharing knowledge tools and resources.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to support company-wide objectives.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
  • 57 years of purchasing or procurement experience preferably within manufacturing facilities or maintenance.
  • Experience with a large-scale ERP system preferably SAP.
  • APICS CPSM or CSCP certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and 10-key data entry.
  • Strong analytical organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ethical professional and collaborative approach to procurement practices.
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies systems and best practices.
  • Experience leading cost-reduction or process improvement initiatives preferred.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office Environment and Manufacturing Plant
Availability for business travel is required estimated at 10%

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time position with standard Monday through Friday schedule
Additional hours may be necessary during peak periods

COMPENSATION
$65k - $72k Depending on Experience
