Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Study and interpret engineering blueprints technical drawings and specifications to understand assembly requirements
  • Utilize various hand tools power tools and machinery to cut shape and form sheet metal components according to specifications
  • Assemble sheet metal parts and components to create sub-assemblies or finished products adhering to strict quality standards
  • Conduct thorough inspections of assembled components to ensure accuracy quality and adherence to aerospace industry standards
  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances making adjustments as necessary
  • Safely handle and store sheet metal materials ensuring proper organization and inventory control
  • Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team including engineers and machinists to achieve seamless integration of sheet metal components into larger assemblies
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines contributing to a safe and efficient working environment

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Any technical or trades qualifications/certificates or training would be considered an asset
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check

Skills & Experience:

  • 2 years of manufacturing aerospace warehousing or construction experience is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools power tools and sheet metal fabrication machinery
  • Ability to interpret and understand drawings blueprints and technical specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines
  • Must have and maintain the ability to legally work in Canada.

Location: Victoria BC

Term: Permanent Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week
