At Inventive we support our clients with smart scalable techincluding web developmentand maintain our own suite of applications. As a Senior Web Developer here youll help bring ideas to life with polished code collaborative energy and a sharp eye for quality.
What Youll Be Doing
On any given day you might be collaborating with our internal team (including the CEO!) or working directly with clients to define design and ship new features. Youll manage multiple projects so prioritization autonomy and clear communication are key.
This role also requires strong foundational web knowledgeyou understand how the internet works under the hood (DNS SSL hosting) and youre confident navigating infrastructure-level gotchas in production environments.
This is not just a heads-down coding position were looking for someone who brings technical strength and leadership presence. Youll serve as a technical leader within the team helping set direction and mentor others. Youll regularly engage with internal stakeholders and clients so clear professional communication is essential.
Whether youre presenting technical decisions gathering feedback from clients or collaborating with cross-functional teammates you should be comfortable representing the web team and guiding conversations with confidence and clarity. - 45-minute Zoom chat with our Recruiting Lead
- 30-minute Zoom for a coding exercise
- 30-minute Zoom with the Engineering Manager
Challenges and Opportunities

- Build reusable front-end layouts and workflows
- Refactor aging codebases with clean modern patterns
- Tackle bugs and bottlenecks with thoughtful solutions
- Own your work from idea to implementation to support docs
Qualifications and Experience
Required experience:
- Strong WordPress skills (theme customization plugin use/dev etc.)
- Comfort with how the internet works (DNS SSL CDNs caching etc.)
- Proficient in HTML CSS PHP JavaScript
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g. React)
- Familiarity with REST APIs
- Use of additional CMSs like Shopify Prismic or Cascade
- Knowledge of web performance accessibility and UX standards
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics Mixpanel etc.
- Comfort working in remote environments
- Experience in a consulting or agency environment
- Familiarity with animation libraries (Greensock etc.)
- An entrepreneurial streakfreelancing or running your own business
- Contributions to open-source or technical blogs
