Position Summary
Reporting into the Senior Manager Strategic Projects & Planning the Corporate Planner will play a key role in supporting UHNs strategic and program planning initiatives. Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and senior leaders you will help drive complex projects ensure effective communication across stakeholders and contribute to the overall success and efficiency of the organization as well as the implementation of its strategic plan.
Duties
- Project Management Leadership: Plan manage and monitor strategic projects for key initiatives (as identified by the Board and President & CEO) ensuring timelines quality standards and risks are managed. Engage internal and external stakeholders to communicate goals progress and outcomes and foster a collaborative culture.
- Strategic Planning & Implementation: Support organizational strategy implementation and planning activities including collaborative sessions across hospital portfolios and with external partners. Enhance organizational understanding of UHNs strategic priorities and performance measures.
- Monitoring Key Issues & Trends: Monitor and analyze developments in academic medicine health policy research and government initiatives to identify opportunities and challenges. Conduct environmental scans and SWOT analyses providing strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Communications & Content Development: Develop high-quality presentations speaking notes and briefing materials for senior executives ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategic direction.
- Stakeholder & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams executives and external partners to support project outcomes facilitate collaboration and enable effective implementation of corporate initiatives and strategic priorities.
Qualifications :
- Completion of a Masters Degree in Health or Business Administration or recognized equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two (2) years related work experience (in strategic planning project management corporate communications and change management practices) preferably within a health care setting.
- Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing strategic priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare sophisticated reports proposals briefing notes presentations and speaking notes for senior leadership and Board committees.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and provide strategic recommendations to inform corporate initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Copilot and other relevant tools to support project management and reporting.
- Demonstrated initiative sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive corporate information.
- Strong organizational interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and executive levels.
- Ability to synthesize information create clarity from ambiguity and provide actionable insights that support decision-making at senior levels.
