Shift: 4x10-hour shifts 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
Compensation: $3526 Weekly Gross
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant to join a healthcare team in Saranac Lake NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing professional support in surgical and autopsy pathology preparing and examining specimens and assisting in diagnostic evaluations. This position requires a strong understanding of pathology processes excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens under the supervision of a pathologist.
Assist in autopsy procedures including evisceration dissection and preparation of tissues for microscopic examination.
Prepare and submit tissue sections for histologic processing.
Record and maintain accurate data related to specimen processing and diagnoses.
Ensure compliance with laboratory policies safety protocols and quality control procedures.
Collaborate with pathologists histotechnologists and laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory and institutional standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pathologist Assistant.
Active New York State Pathologist Assistant License (in good standing).
Proficiency in Surgical Pathology Histology Cytology General and Autopsy Pathology.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Education:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program (required).
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA).
