NOTE: This full-time position will work at Pueblo Community College - Monday through Friday 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.with varying hours and days off which may include evening hours depending on the business needs of the college.

Description of Job

Position Summary:
This position serves as the primary point of contact for all receiving shipping and mail services at Pueblo Community College. Responsibilities include processing incoming and outgoing deliveries maintaining inventory and shipping supplies coordinating with vendors and departments and ensuring efficient and secure handling of all packages and mail in compliance with safety and postal regulations.

Package Receiving and Delivery

  • Receive all incoming packages daily from carriers such as FedEx UPS Office Max freight lines USPS and other shippers.
  • Check in all packages using the Pitney Bowes Tracking System.
  • Deliver packages to the appropriate on- and off-campus offices/departments obtaining signatures with a handheld barcode scanner.
  • Coordinate with vendors shippers and employees regarding temporary storage of items in the warehouse area including time limits and space availability.
  • Follow standard procedures for delivery and storage of packages and pallets.

Warehouse and Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory of all warehouse items including paper pallets and shipping supplies (e.g. boxes tape packing materials).

  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to ensure consistent availability.

Mail Processing and Delivery

  • Receive daily mail and packages from the United States Postal Service (USPS).

  • Sort collate and distribute incoming USPS mail to the correct bins for delivery.

  • Deliver mail to designated offices and departments both on- and off-campus.

  • Handle returned mail ensuring it is routed to the correct departments for follow-up.

  • Sort interdepartmental mail and prepare it for the next scheduled delivery run.

Outgoing Mail Services

  • Accurately meter all outgoing mail to ensure timely pickup by USPS.

  • Process certified mail international mail and parcels in compliance with USPS regulations ensuring correct postage and documentation.

  • Assemble or select appropriate shipping boxes/envelopes and pack items securely for shipment.

  • Determine the most appropriate shipping method based on procedures and rates.

  • Create shipping labels using designated software and ensure packages are picked up on schedule.

  • Inspect all outgoing shipments to verify proper packaging and labeling.

Bulk Mail Processing

  • Prepare bulk mailings for departments submitting over 200 pieces to qualify for discounted postage rates.

  • Use specialized software to process address lists and print addressed envelopes or postcards with barcodes.

  • Sort and stuff mailings by ZIP code and complete all required USPS paperwork through the online portal.

  • Deliver completed bulk mailings to the Post Office for processing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:

Two (2) years of experience in a warehouse stockroom or materials handling environment involving the receipt storage and distribution of supplies equipment or materials. Do not use SEE RESUME statements on application; your application must be completed in detail and clearly document your relevant work experience. Part-time experience will be pro-rated.


OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in warehouse operations logistics supply chain management or a closely related field may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application in order to be considered. Conditions of Employment:Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado drivers license and successfully complete a pre-employment background check including a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire. Felony convictions convictions of crimes of moral turpitude or misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges or convictions it is your responsibility to provide the Pueblo Community College Office of Human Resources with official documentation of the disposition of those charges. This position requires a valid forklift certification and the ability to safely operate a forklift upon hire.An essential function of this position requires the individual to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. It also requires constant or frequent climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching crawling reaching handling fingering feeling talking hearing and depth perception. You must be able to perform this level of physical exertion and these essential functions in order to be considered for the position.
