The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for a

Division Operations Manager located in Juneau!


What you will be doing:

The Division Operations Manager will act as the Deputy Director in the Division of Administrative Services (DAS) providing strategic oversight of divisional operations. This role directly manages key functional areas including the department budget procurement the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) licensing program and the DFG safety program.

This position works closely with the Director and contributes during budget development legislative requests and the implementation of new projects. As a member of DASs senior management team this position plays a critical role in shaping policy strategic planning and workforce management. The Operations Manager ensures that DFG offices operate efficiently securely and with a strong focus on customer service.

This position is located in the Juneau DFG Headquarters building next to the boardwalk which provides ample parking and a great place to walk during breaks. A valid drivers license is required.

No licenses are required to perform the position but it would be helpful to be a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Procurement Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of professional experience in the broad occupational fields of the division or department and two years of supervisory and/or managerial experience which may be concurrent with the professional experience.

Special Note:
Professional experience in the broad occupational fields of the division or department means experience in one of the professional areas that compose the divisions purpose and function to ensure the applicant has the knowledge of the work of the division to be managed.

For example in an administrative services division qualifying professional experience could be in any one of the professional areas that compose business administration; such as accounting procurement human resources and so on.

In a line division for example the Division of Mining Land & Water in the Department of Natural Resources qualifying experience could be in any one of the professional areas that provide for the use and protection of Alaskas State-owned land and water such as geology hydrology forestry natural resource management and so on.
