Job Summary

A Day in Your Life at MKS

As a State and Local Tax Manager (SALT) at MKS you will partner with the Global Tax Reporting team to manage all aspects of state and local tax compliance and provision. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of state and local income franchise sales/use property and other indirect taxes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving this role you will report to the Senior Manager Global Tax Reporting.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Oversee preparation and review of state and local income/franchise tax returns sales/use tax filings and property tax filings.
  • Oversee outside tax compliance provider to ensure state tax returns are completed and filed on time.
  • Support ASC 740 reporting for state and local tax provisions including deferred tax calculations and uncertain tax positions.
  • Manage and defend state tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Identify and lead SALT process improvement initiatives to optimize tax positions and reduce risk.
  • Manage tax technology solutions and software to streamline operations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to tax staff.
  • Oversee reconciliation of tax accounts on the general ledger.

Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5 years of job-related work experience
  • Strong proficiency in Excel

Preferred Skills:

  • Masters degree
  • CPA certification
  • Experience in Onesource Tax Provision Hyperion Financial Management Oracle and SAP

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Pay Range: $100414.00 - $186482.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position based on a wide range of factors including qualifications experience and training operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in an amount to be determined by MKS or as applicable.

This position is HYBRID based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Andover MA. Candidate must be within commutable driving distance. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.
