This Position reports to:

Country Holding Officer


Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will have the opportunity to ensure that all local businesses conduct their activities in line with ABB trade policies and guidelines. Each day you will drive and coordinate the local implementation of ABBs Global Trade Program as part of the fiduciary duties under the lead business in a country cluster region or regional execution organization. You will also showcase your expertise by overseeing compliance with all applicable customs sanctions and export control regulations as well as by providing training to the respective country cluster region or regional execution organization.

This role is contributing to the Finance team in Jakarta.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Serving as a single point of contact for local (national) trade compliance authorities and country management in handling trade compliance relating to ABB (deemed) exports cross-border shipments customers or vendors in case of a country-level role.
  • Ensuring the creation documentation and maintenance of trade compliance standards and procedures for all local businesses.
  • Securing seamless connection between overall trade compliance and day-to-day operations including master data requirements supplier qualifications collaboration with staff in related domains.
  • Overseeing trade-related archiving requirements and ensuring that trade compliance records are kept and retrievable as defined in the relevant instructions and regulations at local and global levels.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelors degree in International Trade Law Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade compliance customs or regulatory affairs.
  • Strong knowledge of export/import regulations customs documentation and SAP GTS or similar systems.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with government authorities and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting audits and managing permits licenses and compliance records.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead training and promote compliance awareness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk mitigation
