Job Description
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with scientists within the Pathobiology function internal research & biomarker teams and external partners to identify and validate novel drug targets and elucidate mechanisms of action. A strong background in biology or a related field along with hands-on experience in developing and optimizing IHC ISH IF and tissue based multiplex assays is essential. Familiarity with emerging tissue-based technologies and analytical tools is highly desirable. Experience working with CROs to outsource assays is also desirable.
We are looking for a self-driven team player with excellent organizational and communication skills capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with investigators across Gilead to understand project goals and implement tissue-based assays.
Design and execute experiments using various tissue based technologies (for instance RNA- protein multiplexing IHC/ IF mIF) and platforms (e.g. Ultivue Akoya Canopy) and advanced imaging systems (e.g. Zeiss Axioscan Z1 Akoya Polaris).
Lead the evaluation and integration of emerging tissue technologies through internal efforts and collaborations with CROs.
Manage outsourced studies with external vendors and CROs as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
PhD in a relevant field with 2 years of experience.
Proven expertise in multiplex IF assay development and a strong interest in solving complex scientific problems.
Experience with automated stainer platforms and high-resolution imaging systems.
This position will work closely with scientists data scientists and project leads and success in this role requires strong communication collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with emerging tissue-based technologies is a plus.
Experience working with CROs to outsource assays is desirable.
Familiarity with quantification-based metrics and tools for analysis and data analysis tools (e.g. Excel Spotfire Prism) is preferred.
