Job Summary
Location: San Dimas CA 91773
Shift: Night Shift 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs a full range of laboratory testing using independent judgment and both manual and automated methodologies. This role ensures accurate timely and reliable test results while adhering to CLIA regulations California state licensure requirements and laboratory quality standards. The MLS supports patient care across all age groups and may assume lead responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications-
ASCP certification or equivalent required

Minimum of two (2) years hospital laboratory experience

Bachelor s Degree in chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science medical technology or equivalent education as defined by CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)

Current and valid California State License (if applicable)

Perform waived moderate and highly complex testing as authorized by CLIA and California state regulations

Adhere to laboratory procedures for specimen collection processing analysis and reporting of patient test results

Perform testing using manual and automated methods across multiple disciplines including:

Hematology

Blood Bank

Chemistry

Urinalysis

Coagulation

Microbiology

Immunology

Review and verify the accuracy of patient results prior to release

Recognize age-specific reference ranges and result variations from newborns through geriatrics

Identify test system or equipment issues and independently correct or promptly report concerns to leadership
