Job Description

As a Manager of Engineering you will lead cross-squad programs across sophisticated technical regulatory or other cross-cutting needs. You will ensure progress against important achievements where consistent and coordinated implementation is required. You will consistently deliver strong impact on the success of a team.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops patterns and documentation to ensure ongoing maintenance of technical and regulatory solutions

Define and lead scope for complex cross-team projects with high impact

Lead coordination efforts with some leadership support of Product Partners Architects and Engineers to meet regulatory and technical requirements

Develop plan and lead efficiently and effectively implementations across Workstreams

Work closely with business leadership to understand strategy and objectives ensuring the program is delivering aligned solutions

Lead in a constantly evolving environment ensuring clear communication across all impacted parties

Provide program level communications to senior tech and business leaders to ensure status is understood and issues/risks are getting the proper attention

Effectively handle Issues and Risks

Lead and develop a strong team of engineers to both meet the program objectives and to grow them in their professional careers

Develop the skills and growth of team members through mentorship training and providing opportunities within the program

Work to ensure the team is engaged and address performance issues in a diligent and appropriate manner

Work with Architecture Tech Leads and Business SMEs to ensure the solution being developed is fit-for-purpose

Required Qualifications:

3 years of progressive software development team management experience including Technology or Financial Services/Insurance

Strategic planning product and program roadmap development expertise

Previous experience leading software development teams

Experience in leading and motivating teams and ability to champion partnership and collaboration

Good knowledge of business management capacity management and financial planning

Deep knowledge of project and program management principles & techniques

A passion for delivery understanding processes leading through roadblocks and a focus on continuously improving how work is done to improve velocity

Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision possibilities and outcomes

Preferred Qualifications:

Awareness of full-technology stack NodeJS React C# Azure .Net Mongo/Cosmo Rest API Window/SQL Java Apache Tomcat Salesforce GitHub Jenkins JIRA Power BI AEM

Salary range is expected to be between

$94220.00 CAD - $174980.00 CAD
