Minimum Qualifications

Three years of law enforcement investigatory or gaming regulation experience; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelors degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws are granted.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

Investigative Specialists in the Gaming Enforcement Division oversee licensing for casino employees video poker establishments and technicians. They conduct background investigations interviews of applicants administrative investigations of casino and casino employees and and will be the point of contact for casino human resources among other tasks. Investigative Specialists play a vital role in Louisiana State Police gaming regulation.


Beyond these core duties Investigative Specialists also take on exciting responsibilities such as:

--Performs background investigations of all applicants seeking approval by the Office of State
Police Gaming Enforcement Section and the Louisiana Gaming Control Board including gaming
entities employees vendors suppliers etc.


--Performs inspections of gaming operations and investigations into violations of statutes and
administrative rules.


--Performs review and analysis of contractual agreements and other legal documents involving
applicants and approved persons and/or entities to include gaming internal control documents
management agreements etc.


Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational Promotional or Job Appointment

Career Progression: This position may be filled as an Investigative Specialist I II or III depending on the experience of the selected applicant.

Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.

Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
