Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a New York City based Senior Bridge Engineer to deliver a variety of mobility infrastructure related projects in the New York City this role you will support a variety of projects in NY and across US and Canada. You have the opportunity to develop and lead a team in the NY Metro area to support current and future highway and transit projects. In this position you will serve as a technical lead for infrastructure projects mentor and direct the work of junior engineering staff and CAD will work closely with other discipline leads to provide innovative solutions for our clients including state DOTs municipal entities and contractors.

Role accountabilities:

• Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures including new construction inspection repair and rehabilitation projects. This includes leading assigning and reviewing work and providing technical guidance to the team.
• Review technical packages as part of our internal Quality Matters program.
• Review technical packages from other consultants as owners representative.
• Deliver quality plans calculations and specifications on schedule.
• Assist with preparation of technical scope and fee proposals for structures work.
• Identify and incorporate digital technologies including parametric design AI and digital BIM to streamline design development processes.

Required Qualifications

• 10 or more years bridge design experience
• Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related field
• Registrations/Certifications required: NY PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• A valid drivers license.

Key Attributes

• Experience with AASHTO LRFD
• Experience with NYSDOT design criteria and standards
• Familiarity with structural engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Designer Bentley MicroStation Mathcad Midas and Microsoft Office
• Work independently with minimal direction and oversight.
• Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously
• Direct and mentor junior level staff inside of the project team
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher in Structural Engineering
• Experience with Design-Build projects
• Expertise in incorporation of digital technologies in bridge and structural design
• Bridge inspection repair and rehabilitation experience

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $118000 - $158000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
