Software Engineer - Full Stack Development - 11 yrs of Experience (Limited Telework) - TS/SCI w/Poly clearance is required
Halogen Engineering is looking for a Senior Software engineer who will be responsible for providing application development and support to an eco-system of big data apps in a collaborative environment. Some of the roles and responsibilities include:
- Interacts with customers PMs and other development teams to gather analyze and define requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy the clients needs
- Develops maintains supports and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g. processing-intensive analytics novel algorithm development manipulation of extremely large data sets real-time systems and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements
- Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs software reuse and requirements analysis from system level to individual software components
- Utilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development integration and enterprise-level production environment
Designs creates tests and maintains software and web-based applications and content solutions to satisfy customer requirements
Follows a formal design process using formal specifications data flow diagrams and adheres to laws standards and established guidelines for development and delivery of software and web applications
- Develops and maintains software and web development technical documentation to assist with software and web application maintenance and upgrades
- Provides software process management and configuration management throughout the software / web development life cycle.
- Analyzes and troubleshoots extremely complex software problems and provides solutions using the latest technologies.

Salary Range
The projected compensation range for this position is $213 to $256 (annualized USD).
Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to location the individuals particular combination of education knowledge skills competencies and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in building scalable component-based front-end applications using React.
- Experience developing typed React applications for improved maintainability and scalability utilizing Typescript
- Familiarity with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL/document-based databases (Elasticsearch MongoDB).
- Knowledge of Git workflows automated testing and deployment pipelines.
Desired Skills
- Experience implementing responsive utility-first styling in React applications using Tailwind CSS
- Hands-on experience writing end-to-end tests for React applications with Cypress.
- Experience working in Scrum teams using continuous integration and delivery tools.
- Exposure to or interest in agentic AI systems including autonomous workflows decision-making agents or AI-driven orchestration frameworks.
Qualifications
- Eleven (11) years experience and a Bachelors degree as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required.
- Bachelors degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Nine (9) years experience and a Masters degree as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope type and complexity is required
- Thirteen (13) years of Software Engineer experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
