Baird has an opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team specializing in nearshore coastal and hydraulic infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your technical expertise and leadership skills to high-impact projects around the world.

As the ideal candidate you possess a solid technical foundation in geotechnical engineering and the ability to communicate complex interactions between earth water and this role you will shape the vision and strategy for business development in this area of the company.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Lead and support multi-disciplinary cross-office project teams on complex geotechnical design efforts.
  • Apply your technical expertise to support the planning design and construction of marine and coastal infrastructure projects.

  • Manage and execute geotechnical and geophysical site investigations including data acquisition interpretation and reporting.

  • Develop engineering scopes technical proposals and design reports for major waterfront and hydraulic projects.

  • Conduct independent QA/QC reviews and risk assessments on existing site data and past reports.

  • Guide the development of construction drawings specifications and bid documents.

  • Mentor and support the development of junior and mid-level engineers.

  • Collaborate across time zones and offices in a team-oriented inclusive culture.

  • Engage in client presentations and proposal efforts to support strategic growth.


Qualifications :

What You Bring

  • . Geotechnical Engineering (Ph.D. preferred).
  • 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering for marine coastal or hydraulic infrastructure projects.
  • P.E. or . registration required 
  • Expertise in soil and rock mechanics earthquake engineering groundwater hydrology and soil-structure interaction.
  • Deep understanding of seismic stability liquefaction seepage and ground improvement techniques.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical engineering software such as gINT APILE LPILE PYWALL GeoStudio (SIGMA/W SEEP/W SLOPE/W) PLAXIS FLAC Slide and Settle3.
  • Working knowledge of marine geostructural engineering codes and standards.
  • Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven project management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment while managing competing deadlines.
  • Ability to travel as domestically as well as internationally when needed.
