Remote HR & Payroll Specialist (Xero)
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time; 40 hours per week
Rate: 50k PHP (negotiable)
Role summary
We re hiring an HR & Payroll Specialist to manage compensation & benefits process payroll using Xero ensure compliance and maintain HR records. This role focuses on accurate payroll processing benefits administration and HR documentation NOT full HR lifecycle (no heavy recruiting or L&D responsibilities).
Key responsibilities
- Process accurate on-time payroll using Xero Payroll (monthly cycles).
- Reconcile payroll journals and coordinate with Finance for disbursements.
- Administer employee benefits (HMO enrolment leaves allowances bonuses) and respond to employee enquiries.
- Maintain and update employee records (contracts IDs leave records clearances and medical certificates) digital filing and secure storage.
- Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and prepare documentation for audits.
- Produce monthly payroll reports (payroll summary deductions employer costs) and ad-hoc C&B reports.
- Coordinate with external providers (HMO payroll partners auditors) and with Finance/Admin Team for general ledger postings.
- Improve payroll/admin processes and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Ad hoc HR admin tasks: employment certificates onboarding checklists exit clearances.
Must-have skills & experience
- At least 5 years of HR/payroll experience.
- Hands-on experience using Xero Payroll (mandatory).
- Strong Excel skills (formulas pivot tables); attention to detail.
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping practices.
- Strong communication and confidentiality.
Nice to have
- Experience in benefits procurement and HMO enrollments.
- Familiarity with small-to-medium headcounts (50 500 employees).
KPIs
- Payroll error rate (target: 0.5% per payroll run).
- On-time payroll processing (100%).
- Employee satisfaction for payroll/support (surveyed quarterly).
