Payment Operations Reconciliation Technical Lead

Were looking for a Reconciliation Technical Lead to join our  Payment Operations Reconciliation team in our Tallinn office. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wises mission grow as a leader of our Reconciliation teams and help save millions more people money. 

Your mission: 

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the worlds first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to help build and develop a strong Reconciliation team and support specialists on their personal growth paths.

Heres how youll be contributing to the Operations Team:

As a Technical Lead in the Reconciliation domain youll help scale and evolve our reconciliation systems and processes that support global products such as Spend Treasury Assets Wise Platform and more. Youll lead the technical direction and execution within your team working closely with Product Engineering and Operations to ensure the accuracy reliability and scalability of our reconciliation infrastructure.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Driving the technical roadmap for the Reconciliation team identifying opportunities for system improvements automation and risk reduction.
• Leading and mentoring a cross-functional team of specialists providing technical guidance and best practices in processes design and automation.
• Collaborating with Reco leads and global stakeholders to translate high-level product and operational goals into actionable technical projects and solutions.
• Owning critical reconciliation and payment processes including support for audits ensuring integrity compliance and traceability of data across systems.
• Improving internal tooling by working closely with engineers and operations teams driving the development of scalable efficient and resilient systems.
• Implementing monitoring and alerting frameworks to track key performance metrics and quickly identifying reconciliation gaps or system anomalies.
• Ensuring data accuracy and process integrity across reconciliations helping to reduce defects and support a growing range of financial products.
• Acting as a domain SME and escalation point supporting teams with problem-solving incident response and ongoing performance improvements.
• Contributing to strategic planning and decision-making including input on team structure capacity planning and long-term technical direction.

Qualifications :

• You demonstrate leadership skills (with the focus on project management) and have been in a people management role for at least 1 year.
• You have a proven track record of moving metrics and reaching your KPI goals.
• You place customers first and you make no compromise on this.
• Youre a great communicator straight up and honest. You can adapt your communication style to different audiences. Youre able to persuade others and you arent afraid to challenge something when you need to.
• You know how to use data to prioritise tasks that have the most impact to customers
• Youre comfortable working within teams that face complex issues and taking charge in difficult situations.
• You enjoy creating an inspiring team environment where ideas are shared and openness is valued. Youre comfortable and composed when either giving or receiving feedback.
• You have a passion for technology customer experience and you want your work to have a positive impact on people.
• Youre a great relationship builder experienced at working closely with external partners as well as product development teams including product managers and engineers.
