An exciting opportunity is available for a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) within the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service. This statutory role is crucial in managing and coordinating allegations against individuals working with children. As an experienced social worker specializing in child safeguarding you will collaborate with a team to ensure allegations are addressed promptly fairly and effectively while maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders and partner agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and guidance to employers individuals and organizations with concerns about adults working with children.
- Manage and coordinate allegations against individuals in positions of trust ensuring compliance with the guidelines outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2013).
- Ensure allegations are handled in a timely robust and fair manner.
- Foster effective collaboration with stakeholders and partner agencies.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Must currently be working as a LADO or possess extensive recent experience in the role.
- A degree in social work and registration with Social Work England (SWE).
- Post-qualifying experience in childrens safeguarding.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the LADO role relevant legislation and guidance.
- Proficiency in risk management.
- Experience in multi-agency collaboration with the ability to scrutinise and challenge effectively.
