Responsible for ensuring 100% uptime across NEXTDCs data centres in Asia this role leads facility teams to maintain grey-space to high standards and provision white-space to meet customer needs. The role drives operational excellence aligned with UTI Uptime Operational Sustainability Gold standards and champions continuous improvement to deliver industry-leading performance and service.
What youll do:
People Management
- Lead by example and promote NEXTDC values and a high-performance culture.
- Manage in-house and outsourced facility teams ensuring appropriate resourcing across the portfolio.
- Provide coaching on-the-job training and performance development aligned with company competency frameworks.
- Represent NEXTDC professionally at internal and external events.
- Manage third-party providers to ensure high-quality performance.
Data Centre Management
- Ensure 100% uptime and operational risk mitigation across all facilities.
- Maintain key certifications (ISO9001 ISO27001 ISO14001 ISO45001) and sustainability ratings (GBI BCA Green Mark).
- Oversee budgets capacity planning and critical plant performance to prevent deferred maintenance.
- Ensure customer installations exceed expectations and facility rules are enforced.
- Support on-call operations and cross-site technical support.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Solutions for seamless service delivery.
- Conduct regular reviews of procedures risk registers and operational practices.
- Assist Global Integrated Operations with contract negotiations.
Office Facilities Support
- Provide technical expertise for maintenance and operations of NEXTDC office facilities.
Risk Management
- Report and manage operational security and WHS incidents per policy.
- Maintain and review Site Risk Registers and ensure staff are informed of PTW-related risks.
Information Security
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure Facilities staff understand and fulfill their information security responsibilities.
About you:
- Strong knowledge of data centre design electrical/mechanical systems and high-density cooling and power.
- Expertise in building services (UPS HV/LV generators HVAC fire security BMS/EMS).
- Skilled in cabling cable management and quality assurance.
- Well-versed in data centre regulations ITIL best practices and operational compliance.
- Proficient in BMS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Experienced in capacity planning budgeting incident/change management and reporting.
- Strong vendor and contract management skills.
- Fluent in Bahasa Malay and English; clear technical communicator.
Effective in policy development team leadership and stakeholder engagement
Qualifications :
- 810 years experience in data centre or critical facilities operations
- Proven people and team management experience
- Familiar with Uptime Institute (UTI) standards
- Degree in Engineering Business or Electrical or trade-qualified in Electrical/Mechanical with relevant data centre experience
- ITIL Foundation v3 certification (desirable)
