We are looking for a Construction Project Coordinator to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The incumbent would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity Excellence Respect and Creativity.
The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of buildings including offices laboratories and special use facilities (such as cleanrooms and wind tunnels) that offer an interesting work experience. As a Construction Project Coordinator you will represent the NRC the building owner on the construction site and will be expected to be the eyes and ears and spokesperson for the Construction Project Manager who holds overall responsibility for the project.
The Construction Project Coordinator is expected to coordinate multiple projects and contracts simultaneously while ensuring that work is completed according to the tender documents and that industry best practices and all safety and building codes are respected. Due to the fast-paced working environment the Construction Project Coordinator will need to have strong communication skills and must have experience working with contractors consultants clients.
The projects range from renovations restorations and alterations of NRC buildings and facilities to new construction and involve all construction trades and disciplines including civil structural architectural mechanical and electrical. The project values can range from tens of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars depending on the complexity and size of the project being completed.
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
College diploma in Architectural Civil Electrical Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering Technology. A relevant trade license would also be considered.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
A certificate in construction management would be considered an asset.

* Significant experience is defined as two (2) to six (6) years of experience.
** Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five (5) years.

In addition the incumbent who meets the language requirements will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
