Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager Property Management on the Real Estate Management team the Property Coordinator plays a lead role in the oversight of Metrolinxs large and complex real estate portfolio through property and contract management and financial administration.
What will I be doing
  • Provides day-to-day oversight of Metrolinxs outsourced property management service providers through:
    • Thorough understanding and monitoring of the service contracts to ensure that work is being completed to a good standard
    • Contract/project-related recommendations to management
    • Prompt review of service provider invoicing and oversight of payments
    • Leading contract annual/quarterly/ad-hoc reporting
  • Ensures timely verification and payment of invoices andassists in the development of annual and multi-year budgets and schedules for management approval
  • Initiates and completes procurements for various property management and construction services
  • Interprets various property management and/or construction contractsand makes recommendations to senior staff regarding the oversight of vendors
  • Identifies gaps or issues and ensures best practices of real estate record keeping and data management through proactive monitoring to maintain data integrity and provide project-related recommendations to management
    • Offers input and provides analysis to support continuous improvement of business processes and procedures
  • Ability to write technical memos and prepare briefing materials for a management-level audience
  • Works with external stakeholders such as Utility Companies private landowners and contractors to effectively resolve property inquiries
  • Liaises regularly with internal stakeholders such as Property Acquisitions Project Delivery Teams Transit Oriented Communities and Legal Services
  • Works proactively with colleagues in the Real Estate Management team in identifying underutilized real estate assets which should be considered for disposition or lease/licence to generate revenue and reduce costs/liabilities.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Business Administration Property Management Contract Management or Urban Planning or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated training/experience of Project Management or Property Management experience additional experience with financial administration contract management and/or database management in a real estate environment would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical and legal material relating to real property acquisition valuation property management and disposition.
  • A valid Ontario Drivers License (Class G) isrequired.
