Overview

Works in collaboration with area schools of nursing to coordinate student clinical and/or didactic educational experiences at Childrens Mercy Hospitals and Clinics.

This position will support the Grow our Own programs.

The Grow Our Own Program Clinical Instructor role works with a small team to create educational content provide education support clinical experiences and coordinate programs for those going through the Childrens Mercy Grow Our Own Programs. These training programs provide an opportunity for individuals with limited clinical backgrounds to enter or advance within the healthcare workforce. An ideal candidate would have strong organizational & communication skills a love for education have comfort in a variety of clinical environments work well with a team and be a self-starter.

If you are selected for this position you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assists students to develop essential pediatric nursing knowledge and skills in order to provide safe high quality patient and family care.
  • Designs and develops effective student pediatric learning experiences in collaboration with faculty at designated schools of nursing.
  • Develops and maintains positive professional relationships between clinical staff leaders and students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree (BSN) required and enrolled in MSN program (preferred) or enrolled in Masters program that is healthcare related. and 3-5 years experience pediatric nursing (hospital or ambulatory setting).
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • One of the following: Licensed RN - MO Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $34.43/hr but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Childrens Mercy locations and may not work from home.
