This is a temporary (2 years) training position to assist with the implementation of the Huron system. This is a backfill position to assist with Business Analyst Award Maintenance and general operations responsibilities during the implementation of the Huron system. The Business Analyst is responsible for the functional support and maintenance of the Kuali Research system as well as other key Research Administration systems and acts as a liaison with the IS&T department. The Business Analyst performs business process analysis on new and existing workflows and functionality in order to enhance processes. Through effective functional writing the Business Analyst translates business requirements into system changes enhancements and documented standard procedures. The Business Analyst serves as a client-side representative on research administration system projects assists with user acceptance testing and handles tier 1 and tier 2 system support. The Business Analyst supports the Award Maintenance team with the processing of award and post-award actions. The Business Analyst also provides training to central office staff and the broader research community in support of system use.
A bachelors degree in management information systems business administration or a related field or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience. At least three to five years experience in one or more aspects of sponsored program administration in a university or related environment preferred for the senior level 1 years for the Business Analyst Level. System support experience preferred as well as strong problem solving and communication skills. Reliable thoughtful and takes initiative. Broad experience with enterprise wide systems including SAP and Kuali Research preferred. Strong time management and multi-tasking skills are critical. Ability to learn and master complex systems and understand the interdependencies involved when updating and manipulating those systems. Strong understanding and experience with business process analysis. Experience with functional writing and the ability to translate business requirements into system changes enhancements and documented standard procedures. Ability to lead meetings and present to key stakeholders and executive leadership. Must work well in a team environment.
