Where Youll Work
The Emergency Room at St. Francis is a 26 bed and Level III Trauma Center that treat minor injuries to complex trauma cases and the care team has the skills and expertise to help in any situation. We are designated as a Primary Stroke Center a Pediatric Ready Hospital and have the experts you know and trust.
CHI Health St. Francis was established in Grand Island 1887. Today our hospital is a regional referral center with more than 100 physicians and more than 1100 employees working together to build a healthier community. Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home where they can be supported by their family friends and community.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
No two days in emergency nursing are ever the same. Youre a multitasker who can react quickly as youll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while youre providing emergency triage to others. As part of our ER team youll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts foley catheter insertions or aiding providers with chest tube insertions.
- Use emergency triage protocol to intake discharge or admit patients.
- Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the larger ER team adapting care to changes in patients condition as needed.
- Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values beliefs and customs. Document the nursing care plan and changes in the patients condition.
- Engage in other activities that will benefit patient outcomes such as patient experience initiatives mentoring etc
Compensation: Base rate shift differential
Incentives: up to $10000 sign-on bonus up to $10000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)
We are looking for an EXPERIENCED Rn with at least 1 year of RN experience
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) required within 3 months of hire
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required within 5 months of hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 5 months of hire
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 6 months of hire
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) required within 12 months of hire
- ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 18 months of hire.
