Washington County is now seeking an Employee and Labor Relations Manager to join our Human Resources this position you will strategically manage and optimize the employee and labor relations function within Washington County to ensure that transparent proactive timely human-centered policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
You will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining effective partnerships between Washington County and its employees labor unions and other community stakeholders. This will involve managing employee grievances negotiating labor contracts promoting fair policies and facilitating communication and collaboration between management and labor groups to foster a harmonious and productive work environment. This role will be a partner and a change management leader for county leadership departments and the HR department. Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written are critical in this position.
Our Ideal Candidate
A successful candidate will demonstrate extensive expertise in employee and labor relations including investigations arbitrations collective bargaining and policy development and implementation with a specific emphasis on public sector experience. Additionally they should possess exceptional relationship-building skills collaborative leadership abilities and the capacity to assess the current state of employee and labor relations operational needs for the county and subsequently develop streamlined processes and procedures. They will also have a proven track record of fostering cross-department collaboration while maintaining confidentiality professionalism and transparent communication.
