Laboratory Manager (Molecular)

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a new clinical laboratory in Richmond VA to recruit an experiencedLaboratory Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish and oversee a state-of-the-art molecular diagnostics lab focused on infectious disease testing. The laboratory is not yet operational so the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in both launching and managing daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the clinical laboratory ensuring compliance with CLIA CAP and other regulatory standards.

• Perform hands-on molecular testing for infectious diseases including sample preparation analysis and reporting.

• Train mentor and supervise laboratory personnel fostering a culture of quality and efficiency.

• Develop implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance practices.

• Collaborate with leadership to manage workflow equipment supplies and staffing needs.

• Ensure the laboratory meets turnaround time requirements and maintains the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for inspections audits and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Medical Technology Molecular Biology or a related life science required.

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Specialist preferred; MB(ASCP) strongly preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

• Demonstrated experience with molecular infectious disease testing methodologies.

• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations quality systems and accreditation requirements.

• Excellent organizational communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with hands-on bench work.
