NERAs Chicago office currently has an opening for a Billing Coordinator to deliver our client invoicing and enhance our billing processes.
The Billing Coordinator will work with the administrative team in supporting directors across all global business lines and groups. The right candidate will be expected to work both independently on client invoicing as well as cooperatively with the administrative team and coordinate the regional delivery as we adopt a collaborative and collegial approach.
Previous finance or accounting experience is highly desired to fulfill this role. Training for all in-house systems and processes will be provided.
The role will involve various project management and complex tasks that are often highly confidential and time sensitive working with the director the administrative team and corporate controllership. You will be working with colleagues across multiple offices and their clients so strong communication skills are required.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinating and overseeing billing processes; directing the work of the Billing Administrator; liaising with the directors administrative team and the corporate billing and controllership groups
Verifying that project specific billing details and instructions have accurately been set up using NERAs project management system
Confirming sub-contractor fees special consultant fees and expenses for billable projects are accurate and available to be included on client invoices
Reviewing draft and final invoices associated documentation and project reports for accuracy before distribution to clients
Maintaining a record of delivered invoices
Following up outstanding invoices with directors; communicating with internal administrative team the corporate billing team and clients
Requirements:
Minimum five years experience providing administrative finance or accounting support preferably in a legal or professional services environment
E-billing experience highly desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Personable diligent with exemplary attention to detail and the ability to work with multiple competing deadlines
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential as well as a willingness to learn new software and programs
Strong oral and written communications skills including proofreading and editing
Outstanding client interaction and interpersonal skills
Good judgement and ability to work independently and discreetly
The applicable base salary for this role is $85000 $90000 per year and eligible for overtime.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience skills training location certifications and education and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case addition to the base salary this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
