POSITION OVERVIEW
The Thrive ETA fund is a 50M$ Investment Fund and a bold initiative designed to redefine entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA) for women. It supports diverse pathways to business ownershipwhether through traditional search funds self-funded searches management buyouts or expansion via acquisition. Thrive ETA backs women ready to buy businesses invests in funds supporting female ownership and accelerates access to business ownership by tackling systemic barriers. The portfolio coordinator will also assist with the Black Entrepreneurs Fund (BEF) and the Indigenous Entrepreneurs Fund (IEF) two sister funds with a similar investment thesis and mission to Thrive who are deploying the entrepreneurship through acquisition strategy.
We are seeking a detail oriented passionate mission-driven individual excited about empowering underserved community members through innovative ownership models. As the Portfolio Coordinator you will support the Thrive ETA team BEF and IEF in all aspects of its administrative & operational activities. You are highly organized detail-oriented work well with systems and are an excellent communicator.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Maintain organized records of fund & portfolio company documentation within SharePoint and other internal tools
Own the compliance and reporting workflows by conducting know your client and anti-money laundering checks.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders on systems and tools used for fund operations ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
Assist with investment operational activities such as capital calls and disbursements
Collaborate with the team and assist on ad hoc special projects as assigned
Act as a liaison between investment professionals and portfolio company contacts to ensure timely communication and follow-ups.
Track and compile performance metrics and financial information across portfolio companies for internal reporting and dashboards.
Support onboarding of new portfolio companies into fund systems and processes
Maintain a complex CRM and assist with deal management providing weekly updates on the pipeline
Assist with bi-annual mark to market procedures
Support with other ad hoc portfolio management tasks on a need to do basis
Assist with managing the calendars travel arrangements and meeting logistics for fund leadership.
Prepare briefing materials agendas and follow-up notes for executive meetings.
Assist in organizing events offsites and investor-facing engagements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelors degree or equivalent in commerce business administration communications project management or a related field
15 years of relevant experience inportfolio coordination fund administrationoperations orexecutive supportroles
Proven ability to managecomplex schedules coordinatemulti-stakeholder meetings and handleconfidential informationwith discretion
Experience withinternal portfolio tracking systemsimpact and performance reporting andpresentation generation
Exceptional organizational skills: Able to juggle multiple priorities and maintain structure in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail: Meticulous in reviewing documents tracking deadlines and ensuring accuracy
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small closely-knit team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English; French fluency is an required.
