Job Summary
The primary functions of this position support the development of student-athletes on and off the court and the creation of strategies to enhance the Womens Basketball program brand. The position will support the Womens Basketball coaching staff in a variety of different areas of responsibility including sport activities video analysis practice preparation community outreach programming academic progress NCAA permissible recruiting duties and administrative functions. Serve as liaison between coaching staff and student-athletes while providing individual mentorship for womens student-athlete.
This individual will work under the guidance of the Head Coach Womens Basketball. The person who fills this position will travel with Womens Basketball team on away contests as part of their job responsibilities.
Essential Functions
- Serve as mentor for student-athletes to help facilitate their personal growth. Support the womens basketball student-athletes in their transitions to/from Drexel.
- Coordinate the filming and edit practices/games; manage video equipment and digital storage.
- Manage team electronic playbook including diagrams and video content. Use in-game tech systems (DVS Sports) to analyze plays and actions in real-time for coaching staff and players.
- Observe practice for evaluation and analysis of performance with coaches only.
- Participate in practice drills as permitted by NCAA rules and guidelines; Participate with or observe voluntary activities of student-athletes.
- Advise coaching staff of individual and team performance.
- Work with coaches and academic staff to monitor the progress of student-athletes.
- Execute game and practice video needs of the Womens Basketball program including copying editing reviewing duplicating and cataloging video.
- Analyze video of institutions opponents. Prepare scouting reports as directed by Head Coach.
- Analyze and evaluate videotapes of prospective and transfer student-athletes.
- Attend & participate in coaching and department staff meetings
- Develop community outreach programming for womens basketball team in conjunction with department goals and values
- Coordinate social media strategy and execution of plan in conjunction with department personnel managing the overall message.
- Responsible for any general administrative functions assigned by Head Coach or Director of Athletics including:
- University requirements of employees
- NCAA or CAA requests for information or documentation.
- Coordinate with Womens Basketball staff to integrate film-informed player development sessions and individual plans.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelors Degree orthe equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Experience with video editing software.
- Strong communication and administrative skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel domestically.
- Valid Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Student-Athlete coach or administrator in the sport of basketball.
- 2 years of experience working in a Division 1 basketball program.
- Desire to pursue a career in coaching.

This position is classified as Exempt. Compensation for this gradecan vary based on thesuccessful candidates qualifications and experience department budget and an internal equity review.
