SUMMARY The Senior Project Specialist is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with all aspects of the Burns project management process. The Senior Project Specialist will progressively assume greater responsibilities in order to manage mid- to larger-scale projects with moderate to high complexity from the conceptual design phase through to completion with little oversight. The individual will provide coordination and oversight for all project disciplines with regards to schedule information needs technical standards design criteria quality control and project budget. The Senior Project Specialist will focus on developing project management skills and will delegate design tasks to early and mid-career engineering and design staff while coordinating overall project execution with senior engineering staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSBILITIES - Assist Project Manager with the planning execution and delivery of mid- to large scale engineering projects of moderate and large complexity.
- Review contract and scope of work to ensure project deliverables meet a clients expectations to avoid project write downs and change orders.
- Assists Project Manager in developing client proposals by preparing scopes budgets fees schedules and resources plans for the project.
- Develop work breakdown tasks and structure for all disciplines and assign work tasks to the project team.
- Provide technical leadership in the coordination of multidisciplinary design tasks.
- Review the work product of multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with Burns QAQC process and procedures prior to submission to the client.
- Provide feedback to the project team on individual contributions and development areas.
- Review drawings RFIs and records of changes and communicate directly with suppliers contractors and client representatives as required.
- Identify business development opportunities for future projects with existing clients. Champion all Burns services and business offerings.
- Perform all tasks in compliance with Burns (and when applicable a clients) standards policies procedures and engineering codes.
- Ensure all project tasks are completed efficiently accurately within the allotted project hours and submitted on or before the due date.
- Complete special duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities. Under the oversight of a Project Manager the Senior Project Specialist will provide project task oversight and guidance to CAD Operators CAD Technicians Designers Co-Ops Interns Design Associates and Engineering Associates Engineers Engineer II Engineering Specialist Engineering Specialist II Senior Engineering Specialists and Senior Engineers to ensure submitted work adheres to the Burns (and when applicable a clients) discipline specific policies procedures and standards.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree (B.S.) Engineering Degree from a four-year college or university accredited engineering program. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 10 years of progressive discipline specific engineering experience. |
