Candidate Criteria:

Qualifications

Registered nurse on the active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland

Confirm annual registration with NMBI

Post graduate course of relevant educational course (Desirable)

Management Qualification (Desirable)

Experience

Must have 3 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting in the last 5 years.

With at least one of those years being within the specialty or related area.

Have the clinical managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

Experience with an Electronic Health Record (Desirable)

Preceptorship experience (Desirable)

The Purpose of This Role:

The Surgical Suite at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick is a brand new state of the art facility designed to deliver excellence in surgical care. This is a dynamic fast paced clinical environment which supports a broad range of surgical specialities with modern facilities to ensure high standards of practice.

The CNMI will be responsible for the management care and treatment of patients to ensure that the optimum standard of care is provided within the designated area(s) of responsibility. This role will be one of clinical and professional leadership and development in the nursing team including the development of nursing staff by means of in-service training orientation of new staff and arranging for clinical experience and supervision of student nurses where this is appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clinical and professional leadership to the nursing team within the designated area(s).

Be responsible for the co-ordination assessment planning implementation and review of care for patients according to BSHS standards.

Support and mentor nursing staff through in-service training and professional development.

Coordinate the orientation of new staff and provide guidance to student nurses.

Maintain compliance with safety protocols policies and best practices in patient care.

Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
