About the Role

As a Junior Associate in the Commercial Disputes team youll be part of a dynamic group with lawyers across all UK offices and internationally. The team is recognised by independent commentators as one of the leading disputes and investigation practices with a strong reputation for commercial and innovative approaches to resolving business disputes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Handling complex commercial disputes across various sectors including:
    • Retail
    • Transport
    • Digital
    • Food and drink
    • Health
    • Industrial
    • Automotive
    • Energy
    • Utilities
    • Financial services
  • Strategically deploying dispute resolution methods including:
    • Court proceedings
    • Arbitral proceedings
    • Negotiation
    • Mediation
    • Adjudication
  • Working closely with non-contentious colleagues to understand transaction backgrounds
  • Delivering commercial solutions to complex and critical issues
  • Supporting client relationships with blue-chip companies public sector authorities and high net worth individuals
  • Collaborating across practice areas and industry groups
  • Contributing to the teams reputation for swift delivery of results tailored to clients commercial objectives
  • Engaging in continuous professional development

What Were Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong technical analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial mindset with a pragmatic approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and practice areas
  • Proactive approach to professional development
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage workload effectively

Desirable:

  • Experience across multiple industry sectors
  • Understanding of alternative dispute resolution methods
  • Experience working with blue-chip or public sector clients
  • Knowledge of formal court and arbitral proceedings
