Solar PV Labour Specification - Sub Contract
Commercial Roof-Mounted Solar PV Project Ebbw Vale
1. Project Overview

Project Type: Commercial roof-mounted solar PV installation

Location: Ebbw Vale South Wales

System Size: Approx. 2200 solar panels

Roof Type: Large agricultural / commercial roof structure

Contract Start: Mid to late January

Contract Duration: To be confirmed (dependent on productivity and weather conditions)
2. Scope of Works
The project requires experienced roofing operatives and solar electricians to deliver a full roof-mounted PV installation including:
-
Safe access and working at height
-
Roof preparation and mounting system installation
-
PV panel installation
-
DC and AC electrical installation
-
Testing inspection and commissioning support
3. Roofing Operatives Requirements
Role Summary
Roofers will be responsible for roof access preparation mounting systems and panel installation support in line with method statements and site safety procedures.
Mandatory Certifications
All roofing operatives must hold:
-
Valid CSCS Card
-
Manual Handling Certificate
-
Working at Heights Certificate
-
Asbestos Awareness Certificate
Experience
-
Proven experience working on large commercial or agricultural roofs
-
Experience supporting solar PV installations is highly desirable
-
Confident working in exposed environments and at height
PPE
-
Full PPE required including harnesses where applicable
-
All operatives must comply with site-specific PPE requirements
4. Electricians Requirements
Mandatory Certifications
Electricians must hold:
-
Valid CSCS Card or ECS Gold Card
-
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
-
C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing
Advantageous (But Not Mandatory)

BPEC Solar PV Installation Qualification
-
BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) experience or certification
Role Responsibilities
-
DC string installation and containment
-
Inverter and AC connections
-
Testing inspection and commissioning support
-
Fault finding and compliance sign-off support
5. Site & Compliance Requirements
-
Right to work in the UK
-
Attendance at site induction
-
Compliance with all H&S policies RAMS and farm-site controls
-
Willingness to work outdoors during winter conditions
6. Commercial Notes

Rates dependent on experience and certifications

Immediate mobilisation required for January start
