Primary ObjectivesThe Resident Assistant is a key line-level position responsible for maintaining a safe clean drug and alcohol-free environment at the Tribal Sober Living Facility and provides the residents assistance with daily living skills. The Resident Assistant is also responsible for carrying out duties as established in each residents Treatment Plan for documenting appropriately as required and for following all policies and procedures of the facility. This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives as assigned.

Essential Functions- Enforcement of House Rules and maintaining a drug and alcohol-free safe environment.
- Effectively communicates pertinent information about residents to co-workers during shift change.
- Immediately reports all accidents and/or injuries to the Sober House Manager or Court Administrator.
- Administers mandatory and random drug and alcohol testing of residents.
- Responsible for the check-in process and discharge process.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person
- Assists with coordinating various support treatment and prevention programs.
- Supervises resident daily chores and performs custodial duties as necessary including washing bedding sweeping vacuuming washing dishes etc.
- Cross trained to provide assistance to the Employment Recovery Program including the supervision of ER participants while performing job assignments.
- Ensures that all required reports are completed accurately and timely.
- Provides transportation for residents to medical appointments interviews support meetings counseling and treatment appointments and/or various other activities as directed.
- Performs administrative duties which include greeting residents keeping records answering the telephone assisting residents with making appointments or handling correspondence as needed.
- Provides clerical support functions for the Certified Drug and Alcohol Addictions Counselor or other staff as directed including filing retrieving case files and reference materials or other clerical support functions as requested.
Job Requirements- High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree in Social Work Counseling or Psychology preferred.
- Experience working in a Residential facility preferred.
- Experience working with clients who are attempting to break the cycle of drugs and/or alcohol dependency preferred.
- CPR Certification or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire required.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
Core Competencies Required- Must possess the skills knowledge and experience to perform duties including the ability to enforce rules that could result in sanctions including incarceration of residents.
- Must have a working knowledge of computers with the ability to work in a Windows environment with various software programs such as Word Excel etc.
- Must be an organized and a proficient time manager.
- Must be trustworthy and possess a high level of maturity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing as well as maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents visitors families and co-workers.
- Ability to remain engaged until assignments are completed and overcome obstacles.
- Takes accountability for performance and results.
- Open and honest communicator and follows policies and procedures.
Compensation and Benefits- The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
