Role description:
Arcadis is currently searching for an Earth Scientist Geologist or Environmental Scientist Intern to join our team in Hoffman Estates Illinois immediately on a part-time the backing of one of the industrys leading technical and professional staffs you will assist with sampling and field testing tasks technical consulting and field implementation for multiple regional clients.
This is a great opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of environmental and geotechnical investigation environmental remediation and restoration projects within the consulting environment with a focus on geotechnical engineering and environmental remediation projects for new data centers and power and utility facilities.
This position requires a broad educational background with an emphasis on science principles and fundamentals.
The role sits within our global business area Resilience Environment. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations.
Role accountabilities:
This is an internship opportunity for a dynamic student looking for career growth in environmental consulting. This part time internship position offers an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects work with a great team and join a successful growing organization with a reputation for high quality work and top-notch employees.
A successful candidate:
- May work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously and candidates should possess strong communication organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Will provide field and office support of site wide monitoring and investigation activities including soil water and vapor sample collection plus laboratory soil testing.
- Assist project teams supporting engineering testing and remediation system operation.
- Engage in office and laboratory work that may include task coordination data compilation and interpretation materials testing quality assurance/quality control reviews cost estimates health & safety plan preparation report writing regulatory file review proposal support project strategy development scheduling and cost estimate preparation.
We are seeking a dedicated team player with a strong professional growth mindset who demonstrates a strict adherence to health and safety procedures. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic excellent attention to detail and is self-motivated with the ability to think independently. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing an Associate or BS degree of Earth Science Geology Environmental Science orrelated discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Office
- AutoCAD GIS programming skills
