Job Summary
Responsibilities include:
Manage the beekeeping operations. Maintain healthy hives and apiaries for production and research studies
Conduct and monitor field research trials placed within organization
Maintain study data and facility records in organized manner
Sample collection and documentation of study data both paper and electronic
Assist and execute trial applications
Participate in periodic GLP training
Domestic travel and overtime may be required
Qualifications :
Skills:
Computer and organizational skills are a plus
Excellent communication (oral and written) across teams and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team self-motivated adaptable and a positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques perform multiple tasks simultaneously keep accurate records follow instructions and comply with company policies
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent; high school diploma with appropriate experience
Extensive knowledge of beekeeping operations; basic beekeeping hive management health and pest/disease management
Queen rearing and grafting
General knowledge of agriculture and greenhouse operations
Ability to operate farm equipment including tractors and spray equipment
Ability to perform farm operations including planting maintenance and harvest of agricultural commodities
Willing to work outside normal hours
Valid drivers license
Experience with EPA and OECD GLP studies is a plus
Additional Information :
Position is full-time Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-4 p.m. with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lafayette IN are encouraged to apply.
