Job Summary

  • Interface directly with clients without partner involvement.
  • Schedule and oversee fieldwork and preparation of compilation and review financial statement engagements.
  • Review tax returns and financial statements to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
  • Prepare complex business and individual tax returns and provide tax planning independently.
  • Review financial statement reports including footnotes ensuring they are ready for partner signature.
  • Perform a broad range of accounting tasks minimizing direct partner involvement.
  • Conduct technical tax reviews and approve all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
  • Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns tax research and delegate tasks to tax preparers as needed.
  • Act as a resource for tax preparers and staff on specific tax issues and questions.
  • Communicate important tax and tax-related developments to relevant firm personnel.
  • Delegate and manage governmental tax examinations and may represent clients before appropriate tax authorities.
  • Train and develop staff through recruiting performance evaluations developing training aids and instructing professional development programs.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of the firms philosophy and positions on tax matters.
  • Stay current on general economic and political trends and legislation that may affect clients.
  • Participate in the firms practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources community and industry activities.
  • Sign and issue select tax returns.

Qualifications :

  • Degree in Accounting from an accredited university; Masters degree in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in public accounting demonstrating progression in tax return complexity scope and research.
  • Minimum of 40 hours of continuing education annually to maintain technical and business skills and meet licensing requirements.
  • Active CPA or EA license in good standing (REQUIRED).
  • Member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
