Whats the role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Data Engineer to complement WIB Technology Financial Markets. The Traded Risk Technology team is responsible for improving and delivering the Market Risk solution.
Current projects include implementing APS116 Market Risk in the Trading Book which involves replacing the legacy system with a new hybrid vendor and in-house solution and upgrading the Trader Limits / Structural Risk platform to a newer vendor technology.
To manage these complex projects the team needs stronger technical leadership and more development resources.
This will help improve solution design meet business requirements build domain knowledge and ensure smooth handover of support capabilities within the team.
What do I need
- Significant senior level experience in the IT industry (ideally 10 years) focusing on hands-on engineering coding and development.
- Advanced experience using Python / PySpark.
- Highly adept with big data platforms (E.g. AWS or Azure).
- Experience with Palantir Foundry is highly desirable.
- Experience coaching and mentoring development teams both onshore and offshore.
- Familiarity with financial markets and/or market risk in banking is desirable.
- Highly experienced working in Agile team structures and dealing with a variety of stakeholders at all levels within a complex corporate arena.
