Job Functions
- Responsible for creating design specifications for various public works projects.
- Performs detailed engineering calculations.
- Prepares analysis reports of assigned engineering projects.
- Performs site assessments and environmental assessments as needed.
- Conducts public meetings and various public relations tasks which may include media briefings.
- Supervises assigned staff in the day-to-day operations and directs project staff as needed.
- Responds to citizen inquiries and complaints regarding assigned projects.
- Provides technical assistance to other divisions and departments.
- Coordinates with other divisions departments or municipal agencies on projects under design.
- Meets with consultants on various projects to discuss designs and design problems.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
- One (1) year of engineering experience.
- No substitution for education allowed.
- Valid Class C Texas Drivers License.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in the State of Texas.
- OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification from another state with the ability to obtain an EIT Certification in the State of Texas within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Civil Engineer
- Traffic or Transportation experience.
