Job Summary
The Department of History at the University of South Florida seeks to fill a 9-month full-time and tenure-earning Assistant Professor position in U.S. Public History with a start date of August 7 2026. Salary is negotiable.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will teach two courses a semester including a U.S. general education survey upper-level courses in their specialization and seminars at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in History is required and must be conferred by appointment start date. We welcome applications from those with experience or interest in community-engaged practice and/or oral history. Mustmeetuniversitycriteria forappointment totherankofAssistant Professor.
Preferred candidates will have university-level teaching experience and scholarly publications.
