Sr. Principal Linux System Administrators (SME)internally known as PrincipalAnalyst infrastructureWorkplaceServicescollaboratewith manyteams tosupportexciting critical programs with classified information system this role means you candevelop implement and maintain secure cost-efficientenvironmentsacross various classified programs. Program teams rely on yourcollaborationand guidance to define computing requirements andcreateend-to-endsolutionstosolvecomplexIT infrastructure problems.

What You Will Do:

• Serve as a Linux / Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) designing implementing troubleshooting and maintaining physical and virtual Linux servers across a large-scale enterprise network. This includes system hardening patching automation with Ansible provisioning with Kickstart access control management lifecycle management with Red Hat Satellite virtualization with KVM containerization with Podman or Docker and hybrid cloud integrations with OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with engineers software developers systems administrators storage networking and high-performance computing teams to resolve complex infrastructure and integration challenges.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory and security frameworks such as DFARS RMF and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Provide critical on-site support for mission systems in a closed DoD area responding to both planned and emergent tasks with occasional work outside standard hours and up to 10% travel as required.
• Obtain and maintain DoD 8140 / 8570 certification (e.g. CompTIA Security or equivalent) within six months of hire.
• Must have a interim clearance to set a start date

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a bachelors degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree and 5 years of direct experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including system installation administration patching and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare ESXi or similar platforms.
• Experience with secure system configurations system hardening application settings and tailoring Linux environments

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Strong leadership teamwork communication (written and oral) collaboration and organizational skills.
• Deep experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and its ecosystem including authentication and identity services (SSSD LDAP Kerberos NIS) and file sharing/integration services (Samba NFS).
• Expertise with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Red Hat Satellite along with strong scripting skills in Bash Python Perl or C to support provisioning patching and lifecycle management.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization and containerization technologies including VMware vCenter vSphere Horizon ESXi KVM Podman Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Familiarity with enterprise storage systems (e.g. NetApp) and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies such as Horizon Profile Unity and NVIDIA GPU virtualization (NLS DLS).
• Proficiency with monitoring vulnerability scanning and compliance assessment tools (ACAS Splunk Nessus SCAP STIG Nagios SolarWinds) and working knowledge of security frameworks (CMMC NISPOM JAFAN JSIG DFARS DoD RMF).

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD - 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
